Mailbox makeover. Update your curb appeal with a mailbox painted in stylish color and pattern. Home improvement projects can be intimidating, pricey, and time consuming, but this DIY is sure to be a fun project even your kids will love.
Create this inexpensive and stylish DIY idea with 8 easy steps: Remove any lose paint and rough up the metal surface with coarse sandpaper. Remove any dirt/dust with a wet rag and spray with primer. Once dry, brush or spray on your base color (Behr’s Jackfruit worked perfectly for this project). Allow time for drying and begin taping off stripes with painter’s tape. Brush on an accent paint (we used Martha Stewart Wrought Iron), mark your letters or numbers using stencils and a pencil (Tip: Use a colored pencil that resembles your paint so no markings show through) and brush on the paint (our color of the week Glidden Golden Bronze seemed like the best choice) following your guide marks. Finally, mount and enjoy this dash of design each and every day you check your mail.
What goes great with this project? A playlist. Get your weekend “To-Do” to a “Ta-Da” listening to our favorite songs this week:
